Every year during Advent Denmark Manor participates in the Salvation Army “treasures for children”. The Salvation Army provides ages of specific children and the congregation provides Christmas gifts. Each year, we play Santa for 40 children.
St. Paul Homes is a ministry to seniors affiliated with the United Church of Christ. Our church receives an offering to benefit St. Paul homes when there is a fifth Sunday in the month. We also make Walker bags for elderly residents.
The DMUCC Mission Team once again worked at the Hunger Garden In Madison, PA. This project is very worthwhile. A few facts about the garden are quite amazing. The garden was started 13 years ago by Mr Sarver but was not manned by volunteers. In 2005 Lyn Hunter took on the job as volunteer co ordinated of the garden after her retirement from teaching. Last year there were 22 trips made to the garden and 646 volunteers, some repeaters included in the count. The total poundage of produce was 22,519 and was to have fed 4,000 people. Among the volunteers are Girl and Boy Scout Troops, garden clubs, VA Hospital Cardiology staff of Oakland, Nurtition Co. employees, WCCC, St. Vincent and Seton Hill Colleges, Rotary Clubs, the Penn Trafford CAP Club and a variety of Christian Churches of different denominations. This is a much needed project in our community let's keep it going!

Annually, Denmark Manor hosts the annual CROP Walk. CROP, is an arm of Church World Service and is a way for communities to reach out
not only to serve local needs, but also for the many needs around the world. The CROP Walk is sponsored by the Penn Trafford Ministerium.
This past year's event on October 12, raised $3,383 by the efforts of 69 walkers
and their sponors. 25% of the CROP funds raised are divided between St.
Barbara’s Community Food Pantry and the Trafford Food Pantry. The remaining
goes for world hunger relief and deveopment.

This past fall the congregation and the children of the church assembled 32 school kits to be sent around the world for children who have no access to school supplies. The school bags were made by members of the church and decorated by the church school. Currently the Sunday school is raising funds for blankets for Church World Service by selling paper “quilt squares” for $5. Blankest are used for many things in impoverished areas. They are distributed to the homeless across the US. They are used as tents, ground clothes and just to keep warm in refugee camps and other places where there is a dire need. The blankets are particularly important as a help when there are natural disasters and people are left with nothing.
On other occasions the church has made hygiene kits and in the spring will be putting together baby kits through the sponsorship of the Women's Fellowship. You can help put these kits together and send them directly to Church World Service by following the instructions at www.churchworldserver.org. Denmark Manor also tithes it’s offerings to the work of the Penn West Conference of the United Church of Christ, Our Church’s Wider Mission through One Great Hour of Sharing and other special offerings ( UCC Global Ministries). We support the Blackburn Center Shelter for victims of domestic violence, the Westmoreland food bank , and various fire departments in our community. Annually we sponsor our young people to attend Camp Living Waters
